How Pre-Connection Interviews Work

Shortlisted applicants and clients can chat and schedule interview calls before any workspace exists — temporary, private, application-scoped.

Interviews let you talk to a shortlisted applicant before committing to a working relationship.

Starting an interview

From your applicant list, click Start Interview. This opens a private interview channel between you and the applicant — scoped to that one job application:

  • Temporary and time-boxed (about two weeks by default, extendable)
  • Only the two of you can see it — separate from all workspaces
  • Clearly labeled so it never looks like an active working relationship

Scheduling an interview call

Either side proposes a time; the other confirms, declines, or suggests a new time. Interview calls are scheduled only — no surprise ringing. Confirmed interviews appear on your calendar with reminders.

Outcomes

  • Hire → converts to a real connection + workspace; the interview channel becomes read-only history
  • Decline / Withdraw → the channel closes read-only
  • Expiry → the channel goes read-only, but the applicant is never auto-rejected — you can reopen or decide
  • Messages before the connection are not copied into the workspace
