How Identity Verification Works

Optional verification via government ID and a selfie/liveness check, run by an external provider. Success earns the Identity Verified badge.

Last updated October 20, 2026

Identity verification is optional and available to both VAs and Clients from Settings → Verification.

The process

  1. Start verification and give consent — Vayvio uses an external identity verification provider.
  2. The provider captures your government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driver's license) and a selfie/liveness check.
  3. The provider confirms whether your identity matches. Success earns the Identity Verified badge on your profile, listings, and applications.

What Vayvio stores

Raw ID images, selfies, and biometric data are processed by the provider under its own privacy terms — Vayvio stores only the result (verified or not) and minimal facts like document type and country. You can ask us to request deletion of provider-side data by contacting support.

If it fails

You can retry (up to 3 attempts before needing support). Common causes: glare on the ID, an expired document, or a poor lighting selfie — see Why Verification May Need to Be Retried.
